This session addresses the challenges APs face when a diagnosis or disease management requires them to have tough conversations with patients. Develop tools to help you give bad news, have crucial conversations, and handle other challenges related to serious illness.
Learning Objectives:
Identify techniques to establish rapport and articulate empathy in difficult situations
Employ an emotional response, rather than a cognitive response, when responding to patients
Identify preference of at least 3 NURSE phrases or questions to use in difficult situations
Use REMAP to keep a difficult conversation moving forward
